In order to safeguard the well-being of the participants and of the Chephemists themselves, Labshop needs to be carried out in a place which has been agreed upon both by the alchemists and by the individuals taking part in the project. The location needs to be an environment which all parties consider comfortable and safe. As the project requires actions to be carried out in a kitchen, such place should be up to date with safety laws, and should prove to be suitably sanitized. Following these requirements, the project should be carried out either in a kitchen which the moderators have pre-booked for the occasion (e.g. university canteen, café) or in the Chephemists’s own kitchen. Such decision has been made in order to guarantee that the appliances and the location conforms to the aforementioned safety guidelines.
Additionally, the Chephemists have a duty to check that the ingredients used throughout the project are not past their expiring date; are completely sealed before the start of the event; conform to the dietary requirements specified by the participants.
Considering the nature of Labshop, its two creators have agreed upon making the official implementation of the program their own prerogative. This decision is due to the fact that they believe that only Chephemists can suitably moderate the event, for thorough research on the art of word-merging and on the topics needs to be done beforehand. But most importantly, since the safety and wellbeing of the participants is the most pressuring concern, the word-alchemists cannot guarantee that third parties would strictly follow and conform to the safety guidelines.
This being said, Goldstone and Tinelli would still like to encourage privates to engage in the activities described by the program to their own free will, and they encourage further discussion on the topics covered by Labshop.
